 The name is a joke, but his beats are so serious! IV Legend (Johnny Reyes) is a veteran of the underground music scene. Getting his first pair of turntables at the young age of 14 may have been the best thing that ever happened to him. Since then, his goal has been to make all people appreciate the potential, diversity and overall energy of electronic and hip hop music. IV’s combination of gritty electro basslines, heart pumping house beats, and driving percussion results in a distinct style that is sure to make your pulse race. He began doing warehouse parties in the San Francisco/Oakland rave scene and later moved to Santa Barbara where he rocked Isla Vista and Downtown alike. His southward migration culminated in the City of Angels with a slew of Hollywood residencies under his belt.
His first serious commercial remix, Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl,” found it’s way into the crates of Santa Barbara and Los Angeles DJs alike. More Recent remixes include Fedde Le Grand, Justice, Ian Carey, Morcheeba, Kanye West and UNKLE. IV Legend has a supreme love for classics, so be sure to keep your ear out for new remixes of old house bangers in the coming year. With an all original album on the way, it’s clear to see that IV Legend has secured a foothold in the Electronic Music Scene and will be around for many years to come.
